Several
years ago,
"2B1ASK1"
became a
popular
slogan and
has appeared
on many
Masonic-related
documents
and even as
"bumper
stickers" on
the
automobiles
of many
members of
the
Fraternity.
It refers to
the fact
that, in
most Masonic
Jurisdictions,
(and
California
in
particular),
in order to
become a
Mason you
must first
ask someone
who is
already a
member of
the
Fraternity
to become
one.
(He cannot
ask you to
join)...
Thus the phrase:
"To be one, ask one"..
Here are some links which will
provide amplifying information regarding becoming a Mason in California:
Friend To Friend - A Web Site dedicated to a program adopted
in 1998 by California Freemasons which will provide a brief overview on what Masonry is
about.
Entering The Portals of Freemasonry
- An excellent article with detailed information on such items as
"requirements", "tenets", "lessons", "how to
apply", "contacting Temecula Catalina Island Lodge #524 in Temecula CA",
"finding a Masonic Lodge in your area" and "contacting the Grand Lodge of
California".
